31st Annual Regional Aboriginal Recognition Awards

Description: The Regional Aboriginal Recognition Awards, better known as RARA, hosted another moving evening while recognizing individuals who have made positive contributions to the Wood Buffalo region. With nominations spanning all communities within Wood Buffalo, including: Fort McMurray, Fort Chipewyan, Anzac, Janvier, Fort McKay, Conklin and Gregoire Lake, the event truly showcased the leadership within the Aboriginal population. Our region simply wouldn’t be complete without these fantastic humans who share their time and knowledge to ensure the betterment of Aboriginal people while promoting self-esteem within the individuals they serve. The night was filled with laughter and enthusiasm as, Keynote Speaker and Comedian, Don Burnstick inspired and entertained a crowded room. Some of the many awards handed out included: Trapper of the year, Elder of the year, many junior achievement awards and much more.
